Flex Staffing Services
Our Flex Staffing Services offers experienced therapists where and when you need them. This can be used to supplement an existing team of therapists or provide full coverage if you have none. Flex Staffing allows agencies to expand their services to more areas, especially if they already have nursing and other disciplines. Most patients discharged from hospitals require therapy evaluations, and approximately half of those evaluated require follow up treatment. Many facilities will not send referrals to an Agency unless they can guarantee the availability of therapy services. Our Flex Staffing service provides agencies with this guarantee. Agencies select specific geographic areas they need for Vine to provide staffing availability.
Benefits of Flex Staffing Services
- Increase Patient Referrals: Increase the number of referrals you can accept by adding or expanding your available therapy services. By offering therapy services, your Agency qualifies for more referrals.
- Improve Compliance: Having therapists on staff is also a requirement under Medicare conditions of participation. Lack of therapists can put patients at risk if care is delayed or not provided. If a patient is receiving home care services, they cannot receive therapy services from another home health or outpatient Agency.
- Accept Patients with Higher Margins: Medicare and other primary payors have higher reimbursement rates than other chronic care patients.
- Improve Patient Outcomes: Every patient can benefit from a comprehensive care team that includes PT, OT and SLP. Even patients receiving chronic care require ongoing therapy evaluations especially if they are at fall risk. Having reliable therapy services can decrease re-hospitalizations.
- Improve Agency Star Rating: Medicare’s star rating system uses a combination of objective and subjective metrics. The objective part is based on answers provided on the OASIS. The subjective portion includes a patient interview where patients provide feedback on how satisfied they are with care. Data has shown that patients with a comprehensive care team that includes therapy are more satisfied than those that do not.
THERAPY IMPACT ASSESSMENT (TIA)
Vine Therapy’s Impact Assessment (TIA) is a comprehensive assessment designed to identify the current impact of therapy services and identify practical opportunities to improve overall clinical and financial outcomes. Depending on the patient/payer mix, rehabilitative therapy services can greatly impact reimbursement and measurable patient outcomes. A recommendation may include:
- Education on OASIS functional coding. This can affect reimbursement rates, especially for Medicare patients.
- Improvement in timeliness of therapy assessments. This can affect patient outcomes.
- Change in therapy frequency and use of other therapies to improve resource utilization
- Use of tele-health for therapy
- Use of trained HHAs and PTAs under supervision of PT
- Other ways to improve patient outcomes
ONBOARDING AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT
For agencies with an existing team of therapists, Vine can provide the needed staff development and periodic assessment services. Skill development is especially important when hiring. For example, an agency looking to hire a PTA will require a PT to provide the necessary onboarding orientation and training. Vine Therapy therapists can work with an agency HR team to complete the clinical portion of orientation. This can include documentation, care coordination and use of treatment aides. This can be especially crucial for therapists new to home care. Depending on Agency’s policy, Vine therapists may also conduct joint visits as part of training and competency assessments.
- Orientation/Training for new and existing hires
- At-hire skills competency assessment (in-office or by joint visit)
- Annual joint visits and skills assessments (in-office, in-person joint visit or by telehealth)
HOW WE WORK
- Vine will execute a contract to provide services under the agreement. This contract meets the requirements under CMS guidelines allowing you to bill for visits done by our therapists the same way you bill for agency employees. Our therapists perform the same treatments but under your agency banner.
Getting Started

Personalized Consultation:
Schedule a no-obligation, complimentary consultation. One of our experienced care coordinators will meet with you and your family to discuss specific needs, preferences, and any special requirements. During this consultation, we will review payment options available to determine the best financial route for your care. We will also discuss and establish available caregivers, ensuring a holistic understanding of the potential care environment to complement existing caregiving scenarios.
Assessment:
We will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the potential client’s care needs, considering both skilled and non-skilled requirements. This detailed assessment will encompass understanding the client’s medical history, daily routines, preferences, and any specific concerns. Depending on the needs identified, we may recommend a referral to additional providers for specialized or more complex care, ensuring all needs are aptly met.
Care Plan Development:
Based on the comprehensive assessment, we’ll craft a tailored care plan. This plan will articulate the specific services required, frequency of visits, and any other special instructions.
